Lung Health Campaign for Traffic Police
Suryadatta Institute of Health Sciences – College of Physiotherapy (SIHS-COP) conducted a two-day lung health and COPD awareness campaign for traffic police in Pune.
102 officers underwent respiratory check-ups, PEFR tests, and were guided on breathing exercises, lung care, and protective mask use.
Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya said:“COPD is silent but dangerous. Awareness and timely care protect lung health.”
The initiative reflects Suryadatta’s commitment to public health and frontline workers.

Suryadatta Dhanwantari Hospital: Hands-on Medical Learning for Students
Suryadatta Group of Institutes organized a unique 3-day mock hospital – Suryadatta Dhanwantari Hospital – giving students real-time experience as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and administrators. The initiative, guided by Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya and Mrs. Sushma Chordiya, featured OPDs, IPDs, ICU, diagnostics, emergency drills, and hospital administration.
Students from Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Hospitality, Interior and other streams actively participated, learning healthcare delivery, patient handling, and holistic practices like yoga, counseling, and rehabilitation.
Renowned doctors and professionals were honored with the Suryadatta Dhanwantari Healthcare Excellence Awards. Dr. Chordiya announced that a state-of-the-art multispeciality hospital offering Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Allopathy will soon be established, further enriching student training and community service.
Physiotherapy Week 2025 Celebrated at Suryadatta College of Physiotherapy, Pune Theme: “Healthy Aging”
Suryadatta College of Physiotherapy celebrated World Physiotherapy Week 2025 with a series of academic, cultural, and sports activities focused on “Healthy Aging.” The week began with Physiokalpana Rangoli and a lively flashmob, reflecting creativity and youthful energy. Students attended expert lectures on heart health, neurological changes, respiratory wellness, and nutrition, participated in Physiocrats 3D model challenges, and enjoyed interactive academic games and outdoor sports promoting fitness, teamwork, and well-being.
Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya and Principal Dr. Seemi Retharekar applauded the students and faculty for their enthusiasm and innovation. The celebrations highlighted the true essence of Healthy Aging, combining knowledge, creativity, fitness, and community spirit.

Suryadatta students and faculty participated with full enthusiasm in the 5 km Unity Run, celebrating the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
From energizing warm-ups to students showcasing traditional attire representing India’s rich cultures, the event truly reflected Unity in Diversity.
